Shots from the road: In Darwin’s wake

After yomping up towards Ushuaia’s glacier and admiring the Beagle Channel from afar, we thought we should check things out a bit more closely. So the following day, we hopped aboard a catamaran that took us along the strait, past sea lions, cormorants and penguins. Charles Darwin sailed along these waters on his way to the Galapagos back in January 1833, and I imagine it’s possible some of the sea lions we saw barking away at each other were directly descended from those he’d have seen.
